President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reassigned the Permanent Secretary for National Housing and Social Amenities, Engineer Thedius Chinyanga, to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development with immediate effect.
The development was announced on Friday in a statement by the Chief Secretary to the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda.

Dr Sinanda said Eng Chinyanga replaces Eng Amos Marawa who has been “earmarked for another senior position”. Read the statement in part:
A new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of National Housing and Social Amenities will be announced in due course. Engineer Chinyanga’s reassignment to his new portfolio takes immediate effect.
Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa on Friday officially launched performance contracts for permanent secretaries for the fiscal year 2021.

He challenged them to forsake red tape and the old way of doing things and embrace and implement the new government roadmap – the National Development Strategy.
He said Bureaucracy and old ways of doing business and resolving problems have no place under the Second Republic.
