An envoy from Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi delivered a special message to President Emmerson Mnangagwa at his Munhumutapa offices in Harare on Wednesday.
Julio Dos Santos Jane General told journalists after a closed-door meeting with President Mnangagwa that they discussed bilateral relations in all sectors with President Mnangagwa. He said:
I was sent by My President Nyusi to his counterpart President Mnangagwa with a special message. As you know we are sister nations with strong common history hence it is important to always share notes. So we discussed bilateral relations in all sectors with the President.
As you may know, the cooperation between the two countries are historic relations. They are two-sister countries, sister Republics, therefore, for this reason from time-to-time, there is a need for exchange of information regarding the cooperation.
Zimbabwe is currently getting 100 megawatts of electricity from Mozambique to mitigate debilitating power cuts that have been ongoing for nearly a year.
Mozambique also provides Zimbabwe with the closest access to the sea through Port of Beira.
